Ocean City Fire Chief

Chris Larmore
Fire Chief

The Ocean City Fire Department is a combination department of volunteer and career personnel. We have 200 + members in the Volunteer Division and 100 + members in the Career Division, including the Office of the Fire Marshal and our support staff. Our department responds to approximately 6,000 calls each year. Many of these occur during the busy summer season. We provide services to the 10 & ½ mile stretch of beach area, West Ocean City, and also provide mutual aid to Worcester County, Maryland and Sussex County, Delaware.

Message from Chief Larmore

"On behalf of the Ocean City Fire Department, I thank you for visiting our webpage. When I was appointed Fire Chief by the Mayor & City Council on June 1, 2008, I accepted the responsibility of leading one of the nation’s unique and finest combination fire departments.

I am extremely proud to lead a progressive and tradition-rich department. It is an honor to have men and women who are dedicated to one thing- service for others.

Ocean City is where families come to play, fish, relax, and enjoy the many boardwalk activities. Being an Ocean City resident, I remain amazed as I look upon the Ocean City skyline, day or night. There is nothing better than listening to the waves crash against the beach from the sand or from your hotel room.

The men and women of this department pledge to provide those in need excellent service. When you are in Ocean City, please feel free to stop by any of our five fire stations. Our firefighters and paramedics will be happy to show you our facilities and equipment. Thanks for visiting and feel free to look around."
