POLICE RECORDS TECHNICIAN - PART-TIME

JOB TITLE: Police Records Technician

SALARY: Part-time Position: $11.98/hour

AVAILABILITY: 15 May 2014

The Town of Ocean City, Maryland Police Department is seeking part-time employees capable of working 24 to 40 hours per week to perform tasks associated with records management duties.

JOB SUMMARY:

The applicant(s) selected for this position will be responsible for police related data entry, clerical duties/procedures related to the processing of parking fines and vehicle tows, and customer service inquires related to payments of fines and report processing.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Assignments are expected to be completed in accordance with established Department and Town policies, procedures, and precedents. This is a confidential employee who must pass a comprehensive background investigation which may include a polygraph.

Candidate must be a graduate of an accredited high school with a proficiency in the understanding and use of office related software packages to include Microsoft Word and Excel. A candidate must have a valid driver’s license and must be available to work weekends and/or evening hours.

RECREATION/PARKS

GOLF COURSE HORTICULTURALIST - PART-TIME

The Horticulturalist performs tasks involved in the design, installation and maintenance of ornamental flower beds, tree and shrub plantings, clubhouse grounds, and golf course landscaping and naturalized areas. Duties will include mowing, mulching, planting, pruning, weeding, operation of equipment, and landscape design. The Horticulturalist will also perform highly specialized tasks such as fertilization and pest control application, irrigation operation and maintenance, landscape construction projects and administer environmental programs. The Horticulturalist may be required to assist golf course maintenance staff in general course maintenance duties which may include irrigation repair and operation, hand-watering, mowing of greens, tees and approaches, mowing roughs, weedeater operation, sand bunker maintenance, trash pick-up. Prior education in landscape maintenance or horticulture preferred but not required. Applicants with prior experience in golf course or landscape maintenance preferred. All applicants must have a positive work ethic and be willing and able to work outside in all types of weather conditions. Applicants must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation. High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Must have above average knowledge of grounds maintenance operations and equipment and tools used in maintenance activities. This is a year-round part-time position. Hourly rate $11.99

RECREATION/PARKS

RECREATION INTERN - PART-TIME

This position will assist Recreation Program staff in the day to day running of recreational programs for all ages. Run employee softball league, skate competitions, and parties from start to finish including set up, marketing, hiring and supervision of staff. Facility coverage and assisting with the supervision, registration, paper work related to programs, camps, leagues, Play It Safe activities, beach activities and other programs as assigned. Customer service including answering phones, taking registration, fielding questions. Schedule includes some evenings, weekends and holidays. Must be working towards a bachelor’s degree in Recreation and Parks or related field. Receiving college credits for work and being enrolled in a college course for internship credit preferred. 40 hours per week mid-May – mid August, $10.21 per hour, no housing provided. FACILITIES MONITOR - PART-TIME

Monitors tournaments, programs and activities within the Northside Park Recreation facility. Recreation/ Parks background preferred. Handles set up and break down of activities/events. Close contact with the public both physically and by telephone. Possess excellent communication and computer skills. Able to work schedule not limited but including Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays day and evenings. 20 - 30 hours week. Lift weights up to 50 lbs and have a valid driver’s license. Hourly rate $11.98. Driving record, drug test and background check required. Position will be open until filled.

RECREATION/PARKS

BUILDING MAINTENANCE WORKER / PART-TIME YEAR ROUND

Performs maintenance and custodial assignments at Recreation and Parks buildings. Provides set up and break down for sporting events and meetings. Provides custodial care and cleaning of buildings. Able to work a varied schedule, including early mornings, evenings and weekends. It is a 30 hours weekly/yr round position. Lift weights up to 25 lbs regularly, occasionally up to 50 lbs and rarely lift or move up to 100 lbs and have a valid driver’s license. Familiarity with common practices, processes, material and tools of building maintenance; mechanical aptitude. Hourly rate of $11.0608. Driving record, drug test and background check required.

Park Worker: Performs duties in turf care, park construction projects, landscape maintenance and Town programs and events. Under minimal supervision performs various turf management, park maintenance and construction tasks using hand and power operated tools; a variety of small gas/diesel powered, electrically driven, and/or hydraulically operated equipment/machinery. Drives, operates and trains on equipment used by the Recreation & Parks
Department. Must be dependable. Experience helpful but not required.

Work starts around 4/14/14 thru 11/20/14.
