The Department of Planning and Community Development consists of four divisions: Planning, Zoning, Construction Inspections, and Geographical Information Systems (GIS). The Planning Division, along with the Planning Commission, is responsible for preparing the town’s Comprehensive Plan. The Zoning Division administers and enforces the town’s zoning regulations. Development plans are reviewed for code compliance and field inspections are made to ensure continued compliance. The Construction Inspection Division administers and enforces the International Building, Housing and Property Maintenance Codes through plan review and inspections. GIS develops and maintains various data and mapping applications. Staff also serves the Mayor and City Council and various Boards and Commissions. Email: jhouston@oceancitymd.gov
