(July 31, 2014) – The Ocean City Police Department, in coordination with the Bayshore Drive and Caine Woods Neighborhood Watch groups, will be celebrating the 31st Annual National Night Out on Tuesday, August 5, 2014 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Fiesta Park in Caine Woods and Gullway Villas on Lark Lane. National Night Out is a neighborhood event that promotes community involvement in crime prevention activities, police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie.
“We believe that the number one crime prevention tool is having a great relationship with our community and National Night Out helps promote that,” commented Chief Ross Buzzuro. “This event is not only a great way for us to build relationships with our community but also for community members to get out and meet their neighbors.”
On behalf of the Ocean City Police Department, Chief Buzzuro would like to invite Ocean City citizens to participate in National Night Out festivities. Numerous OCPD officers will be in attendance including members of the OCPD Mounted and K-9 Units. McGruff, the crime dog, will also be on hand at both locations to take photos with children.
In addition, the OCPD encourages you to be the “eyes and ears” of your community, by reporting crime or suspicious activity to the Ocean City Police Department.
