MEDTRN Service
INFORMATION FOR USERS
On Friday, December 11th, 2009 Ocean City Transportation, in conjunction with the Tri-County Council for the Lower Eastern Shore of Maryland, will begin a pilot transportation service entitled “MEDTRN”. The purpose of MEDTRN will be to provide safe, courteous, and efficient transportation service to ADA qualified persons with disabilities within the corporate limits of Ocean City, MD to/from the corporate limits of Berlin, MD for “medical appointments” only. The required fare is $5 per boarding. Service will be provided Monday, Wednesday, and Friday - 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

MEDTRN service is only available to ADA qualified persons with disabilities within the corporate limits of Ocean City.

MEDTRN service will only be provided to clients with medical/dental/vision appointments within the corporate limits of Berlin, Maryland.
- MEDTRN will operate as a “pilot program” from Friday, December 11, 2009 thru Thursday April 1, 2010.

MEDTRN fare is $5.00 per boarding. Exact fare required. No Discounts apply. Ocean City Resident Senior Citizen Passes are not applicable to this service.
- MEDTRN reservations must be made in advance with the Ocean City Transportation Dispatch Office (410-723-1606), being no later than 11 a.m. the day prior to the scheduled medical appointment. All reservations will be taken on a “first come, first served” basis, as MEDTRN vehicle seating may be limited.

MEDTRN days and hours of operation are Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. First scheduled MEDTRN “pick-up” in Ocean City for transport to Berlin will be 8:30 a.m. Please make every effort to schedule your medical appoints in accordance with MEDTRN “hours of operation”, allowing no less than 45 minutes for transport to/from Ocean City/Berlin.
- MEDTRN financial assistance may be available to qualified persons in the form of “Fare Vouchers”. To inquire further, please speak with a MEDTRN Driver, or call Ocean City Transportation at 410-723-1606.

MEDTRN Private party donations will be accepted at the following locations: City Hall - 301 Baltimore Ave. & Transportation Dispatch Office 206 65th Street.
