IMG_0937George Choisser has retired after nearly 20 years with the Town of Ocean City.  Choisser, who joined the Town in December 1993, has spent his career as the Turf Equipment Manager at Eagles Landing.

While Choisser’s formal responsibilities included equipment maintenance, he was also instrumental in keeping the equipment performance at an award winning and quality level.  In addition to founding the Eastern Shore Association of Turf Equipment Managers, Choisser presided over the group, which served as an educational and networking group which enhanced the golf industry on the shore for 15 years.  During Choisser’s employment he was also on staff at Delaware Technical and Community College for over 10 years, where he educated and mentored students in their Turf Management curriculum and served on their Agriculture Department Advisory Board.

“Shortly after the opening of Eagles Landing, I began my employment there,” said Choisser.  “In nearly 20 years, I have met many employees and officials who were dedicated to making Ocean City a warm and welcoming place to work and play.  I am grateful for those who have become my friends and enriched my life.”

Choisser lived and worked in California in the high performance racing industry for 25 years before moving to Maryland in the 1990’s.  His background includes sales, teaching, management and special factory training and updates from Toro and John Deere.  His retirement plans include spending more time focusing on his home, his family and his faith.  He hopes to enjoy the beach, his garden and his church, while also traveling to other parts of the country to visit his family and friends.

“While working with the Town, I have appreciated the benefits received, both tangible and unexpected,” Choisser continued.  “Look for me strolling the boardwalk with my blue eyed husky, Turbo, or checking out the Cruisers when they are in town, or enjoying the many concerts, art shows or dining spots with my wife, Kandi.”
