O.C.toberfest Halloween Happenings

Summer might be drawing to an end but the free family fun continues with three exciting events returning to Ocean City this October!  The first event is the giant “Halloween Beach Maze” Saturday and Sunday, October 19-20 and October 26-27, 10am-5pm each day.  This year the Maze is bigger and better than ever!  Experience a “pleasant” scream as you meander the sands of the giant beach maze.  Wicked witches, pirates of the sand, scary scarecrows, ghouls in the graveyard, creepy clowns, zombies and more await your arrival. The beach maze is free for the whole family.  Look for the entrance to the maze on the beach near North Division Street.

The next event you don’t want to miss is the “Howl-O-Ween Pet Parade” Saturday October 19th at 2pm.  Lots of prizes and surprises will be awarded for best dressed pets, family and friends.  Gather your goblins, dress in your best costume and parade the boards.  The parade will begin at 2pm on the boardwalk at North Division Street.  Registration will take place starting at 1pm.  It’s free to enter!  Plus show your support for the Worcester County Humane Society by making a donation of pet food, blankets, toys, treats or any other pet friendly items.

Rounding out the events for O.C.toberfest is “The Great Pumpkin Race” Saturday October 26th at 2pm.  This event is a wacky and zany side-by-side race featuring wild and tricked out pumpkin racecars.  Join the free fun by creating your very own pumpkin racecar and enjoy a fun-spirited good ole fashion bump and bang pumpkin race.  Prizes will be awarded for creativity and for race winners.  It’s a run what you brung pumpkin race with a few simple rules to follow.  For a complete list of rules visit www.octoberfestmd.com.  Registration takes place starting at 1pm on the boardwalk at North Division Street.  Races will begin at 2pm.  If you’re not up for the challenge of making a pumpkin racecar come watch all the excitement and cheer on your favorite racer!

For more information on any of the events call 410-798-6304 or visit www.OCtoberfestmd.com.  O.C.toberfest events are presented by the Mayor and City Council along with the Department of Tourism and the Tourism Advisory Board.
