Super Bowl Scramble Postponed Due to Snow

eagleslanding(January 31, 2014) – Eagle’s Landing Golf Course’s annual Super Bowl Scramble, which was scheduled for this Sunday, February 2, has been postponed due to the recent weather.  Rescheduled for February 15, the tournament and tailgate party will consist of a four player scramble with a unique scoring format.

“This event is very popular and although we are disappointed to have to move the original date, we wanted to be sure we put on an event that our participants are accustomed to attending,” commented Bob Croll, Head Golf Professional at Eagle’s Landing.  “We expect many of the teams that are currently signed up for Sunday will participate on February 15, but if anyone is interested we certainly would encourage them to contact us.”

Each Super Bowl Scramble team consists of a coach, quarterback, running back and wide receiver.  Scoring is done in a traditional football manner, with points being awarded for touchdowns, field goals and extra points.  In addition, penalties are issued for safeties and 30 percent of the “A” player’s handicap is counted as the team offense.

The tailgate party, which includes breakfast, begins at 9 a.m., followed by a shotgun-start “kick-off” beginning at 10 a.m. The ticket price is $50 per player, and includes green fees, a cart rental and entrance into the tailgate party.  Also included is “Throw the Bomb” on the third hole and Melanie’s Blitz Soup served at half time. Prizes will be awarded for winning teams.
