Chief Bernadette DiPino is proud to announce the appointment of Sergeant Howard C. Whaley, Jr. to the rank of Lieutenant. “I am extremely proud of Lt. Whaley,” said Chief DiPino. “He has worked hard and earned this appointment. I am confident he will be an asset to the command staff and continue to contribute to making the Ocean City Police Department a dynamic and professional law enforcement agency.”
On August 14, 2012, at approximately 3 p.m. Ocean City Police, Beach Patrol and Fire Departments responded to the Ocean City Inlet, in reference to people in the water just east of the ticket booth area. Ocean City emergency personnel arrived at the scene and were advised that an adult male and a small child had been walking along the sea wall at the inlet when the man and the child fell from the sea wall.
On August 12, 2012, at approximately 10 a.m. Ocean City Police responded to the area of 120th Street in reference to a disturbance. After arriving on scene, officers were confronted by a group of persons who advised that a male who was staying with the group in unit, had been involved in either a fight or an argument with several persons in that unit.
On August 12, 2012 at approximately 12:43 a.m., Ocean City Police responded to the area of 4401 Atlantic Ave, in reference to suspicious activity, possibly a burglary in progress. Continue reading
