OCEAN CITY FILM FESTIVAL @ OC Center for the Arts

Ocean City Film Festival – June 9-11 at the OC Center for the Arts

The second annual film festival, hosted by the Art League of Ocean City, will feature over 100 films from a variety of filmmakers, locals, and from the other side of the planet.  The mission of this event is to showcase local and regional filmmakers.  the OCFF promotes diversity and uniqueness in its mission to engage the community with the world of film.  OCFF is the brainchild of local fimmaker William Strang-Moya, a 2013 graduate of Stephen Decatur High School, who hopes the event will grow and become an annual tradition at the resort.  The intimate event will feature short- and feature-length films with opportunities for the audience to meet the filmmakers and discuss their work.  Strang-Moya is encouraging submissions from local filmmakers to round out the entries he’s already received from other parts of Maryland and around the world. There is no entry fee.

St. Patrick’s Scramble – Saturday, March 17, 2018

This is a 4-player scramble.  The entry fee includes green fee, cart, lunch and prizes.  Teams will play 6 holes from each Gold, White and Blue Tees.  Teams choose the holes they play from each of the tees.  30% of the team’s average handicap will be used.  Players may find that their ball lands in a clover.  If so this player’s team is truly lucky because their ball will be deemed holed!  Lunch will be served immediately following play.  The menu includes many Irish American favorites. KOMEN MD OCEAN CITY RACE FOR THE CURE

The 7th Annual Komen Maryland Ocean City Race for the Cure will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2018, in Ocean City, Maryland, on the iconic boardwalk beginning at the Inlet.  The event features a competitive and recreational 5K run/walk, as well as a 1-mile family fun course to raise money for women and families who have been affected by breast cancer.  Join the sea of pink and start a team, join a friend’s team, or join as an individual.  It’s a great time with a great view for a great cause!

The Race Village and Registration opens at 7am and the Race starts at 9am.

BOARDWALKIN’ FOR PETS

Worcester County Humane Society annual fun event – walk-a-thon on the boards! All proceeds benefit the Ocean City area’s no-kill pet shelter. WALK MS @ Jolly Rogers

Walk MS is a 5K and 1-mile fundraiser to raise funding for research, programs and services for the 15,000 individuals living with MS in Maryland, Washington DC, and Northern Virginia.  The walk will begin at the Jolly Roger entrance on Philadelphia Ave. & 30th Street and participants will make their way to the boardwalk.  The 1-mile walk turn-around point and rest stop will be between 24th Street and 25th Street.  The 5K turn-around point and rest stop will be at 9th Street.  Teams that raise $5,000 will receive a 10×10 pop-up tent, which will be set up near the Jolly Roger tents.  The event will start off with registration and breakfast at 8am. For more information, contact Whitney at whitney.po[email protected]
