Maryland International Kite Festival
April 24-26, 2020
Ocean City, Maryland and The Kite Loft welcome you to come and fly on the beautiful beaches along our famous boardwalk. The Maryland International Kite Exposition will feature three days of kite flying on the beaches of Ocean City, Maryland. Throughout the festival there will be exhibitions and demonstrations including stunt and power kite lessons, Giant kite displays and much more! The festival will showcase some of the best kite flyers from around the world. Kites of all shapes and sizes will be on display. On behalf of The Town of Ocean City and The Kite Loft we welcome everyone to join in the festivities. Bring your family for several days of good old fashion kite flying.
All activities are wind and weather dependent. Dry weather & a steady breeze are important for kite flying. It is also possible to have too much wind.

Ward World Championship Wildfowl Carving Competition and Art Festival

The World Championship is an international event where carvers, collectors, and visitors convene at the end of each April in Ocean City, MD. From highly decorative works of art to functional hunting decoys, about 1200 different wildfowl carvings representing more than 150 species from around the world can be viewed at the premiere, most prestigious competition in the world. Competitors of all levels–from youth to world champions–compete against their peers for the chance to win a portion of nearly $60,000 in prize money, as well as other recognition including ribbons, medallions, plaques and trophies. There are over 40 different divisions in which an artist can compete–decorative life-size and miniature wildfowl, floating waterfowl, interpretive, gunning decoys, contemporary antiques, sculpture, and feathers & fronds. New this year is an open wood carving category and Fish carving returns!

Island to Island Half Marathon / 5K

Ocean City Tri Running Sports will hold its annual Island to Island Half Marathon & 5K on Saturday, May 2nd starting at 7AM.
HALF MARATHON RUNNERS ONLY
Saturday, May 2 at 5:15am-6:15am:
Runners will begin loading busses in alphabetical order using the letter starting with your last name. Location of bus pick up will be in the Ocean City Inlet Parking lot. Once you are loaded on the bus you will be transported to the Start Line located at Assateague Island State Park.

Springfest celebrates spring and the upcoming summer season. It is four dynamic days of delicious food, live entertainment and unique arts and crafts under four huge big top tents. Springfest is located in the Inlet Lot at the south end of Ocean City’s famous Boardwalk.
Springfest serves up a continuous variety of musical performances on two stages. Admission to the four-day event is free.
Bring your appetite so you can enjoy delicious food from famous Eastern Shore delicacies to a wide assortment of ethnic food. Over 30 food vendors will serve a variety of delicious food, as the Springfest artisans will delight your eyes with their arts and crafts creations during the Springfest celebration.

Beachfest Volleyball Festival

Head down the shore for our Beachfest volleyball tournament hosted at the Roland E. Powell Convention Center.
This tournament originated in Ocean City, MD with 30 teams and has exploded in popularity over the past four years growing to 224 teams in 2019!! Expanding to Salisbury and Snow Hill to accommodate the popularity, we try and keep our Ocean City roots in mind by allowing each team to play in Ocean City one of the two days. Having an AM and PM wave is one of the great accommodations we provide to allow each team to get their time in the All-American City!
