The position of Senior Project Manager requires management of assigned projects from concept to completion. The Senior Project Manager will manage design, bidding, and construction of projects to include coordination with regulatory agencies (USACE, MDE, MD DNR, SHA, and more). Assigned projects will vary greatly in scope and will include various disciplines such as: Marine & Bulkhead work, Transportation, Street Reconstruction & Utility Work, Water/Wastewater, Building Construction, and Site Work. Wastewater Department

Plant Operator I

Responsible for the operation and maintenance of the Wastewater Treatment Plant. Operating experience in a wastewater facility is desirable, but not necessary. Familiarity with rotating mechanical equipment is a plus. Responsibilities will include the following: inspect outlying pumping stations, check equipment, read meters and gauges, maintain logs and perform basic level laboratory tests plus housekeeping duties. Shift work is required. Candidate must be able to work in adverse weather conditions and lift up to 50lbs. with assistance. Heavy Equipment Operator

Operates a variety of heavy equipment including performing of preventive maintenance on all equipment used. Daily operation of equipment would include: wheeled and tracked equipment over ten tons, loader over five tons, excavator, dump truck, backhoe, and snow plow. Fire Marshal’s Office

Fire Safety Inspector

The Ocean City Fire Department: Office of the Fire Marshal is responsible for proactive fire code enforcement, fire/explosive investigations and hazardous device response for the Town of Ocean City. The work of Fire Safety Inspectors and Deputy Fire Marshals assigned to the division varies widely, and may involve plans review and inspections for new and existing buildings, origin and cause investigations, courtroom testimony, bomb and hazmat response, and special projects/events assistance.

The Fire Safety Inspector is the entry-level/trainee position in the Fire Marshal’s Office, and will be responsible for code enforcement and origin/cause fire investigation assistance while obtaining the necessary education, training, and experience for required promotion to a sworn law enforcement position (Deputy Fire Marshal II). Duties and responsibilities commensurate with training, experience, and Departmental needs will be assigned as the team member prepares for promotion.

Schedule is predominantly day work (M-F) with rotating on-call status, and is subject to periodic evening/weekend assignments related to investigations and the Town’s various special events. Uniforms, equipment and training are provided at no cost to the employee; on-call Deputy Fire Marshals living in proximity to the Town of Ocean City are also provided with a take-home response vehicle.

Candidate must possess excellent customer service skills, strong organizational and communication skills and a high level of proficiency in oral, written, and digital communications. Entry-level candidates must have a valid driver’s license and some fire service/law enforcement/fire protection education or experience.

Successful candidate should be capable of obtaining necessary certifications (Fire Inspector I/II, Fire Investigator, HazMat Technician, Police Officer) for promotion to Deputy Fire Marshal I/II, pending training availability and Departmental priorities.

Base annual salary range for position and promotional opportunities are:

-Fire Safety Inspector: $39,194 to 62,360 (Entry Level)

Wastewater Process Equipment Mechanic

Responsible for the maintenance and repairs of the equipment in the Wastewater Treatment Plant and pumping stations. Operating experience in a wastewater facility is desirable but not necessary. Responsibilities will include the following: Using electronic diagnostic equipment, traces out and repairs/welds process equipment including electrical, hydraulic, heat and air conditioning and any other major repair requiring the experience of a process equipment mechanic. Repairing valves, electric motors, chemical feed pumps, water pumps, blowers, mixers, well pumps and other process equipment. Must have a functional knowledge of appropriate use of lock-out/tag-out safety procedures, relevant occupational hazards and standard safety precautions. Should have functional knowledge of the principles of low voltage and high voltage electrical systems.

Vehicle Equipment Technician II

The ideal candidate for this position is a skilled mechanic at a certified level, with experience in the maintenance and repair of gasoline and diesel equipment. A mechanic in this classification diagnoses and makes mechanical/electronic repairs on all sizes of gasoline and diesel equipment with little supervision from the Automotive Services Manager. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma, completion of an apprenticeship in automotive mechanics and 5 years of experience in service and maintenance repair of vehicles, ASE certification for heavy duty vehicles or the ability to obtain within one year.

Candidates who do not meet the above qualifications, but possess the mechanical aptitude and ambition to learn and grown into the role, may be considered for a Vehicle Tech I position, with the goal of promotion to the Vehicle Tech II position within 12 Months. Both positions require the ability to obtain a CDL with Class A endorsement within one year of employment. Must pass a pre-employment drug test. Copy of last 3 year driving record is required.

We are looking for skilled Firefighter/ALS clinicians to become full-time members of our team. Individuals must be at least 18 years of age and meet the following requirements at the time of application:
