Firefighter/EMS Positions

We are looking for skilled Firefighter/EMS clinicians to augment our full-time staff. Individuals must be at least 18 years of age and meet the following requirements at the time of application:

1.High School Diploma or GED.
2.Possess a valid Maryland or National Registry EMT or Paramedic license, Maryland CRT license or National Registry EMT-Intermediate license. Successful candidates must obtain Maryland license or certification within 30 days of employment.
3.Maryland Firefighter 1 certification, National Pro-Board Firefighter 1 certification or equivalent at the time of application.
4.Valid driver’s license at the time of application with 2 years driving experience and a satisfactory driving record.
5.One year of validated experience in driving and operating an emergency vehicle in the emergency mode is preferred.
6.Current BLS Healthcare Provider or Professional Rescuer CPR certification.

Part Time Youth Sports Officials

Part time youth flag football and/or basketball officials are responsible for officiating scheduled games. Prior experience in officiating youth sports is desirable. Graduation from an accredited high school or GED equivalent required. Must be eighteen years of age or older. Must successfully complete and pass a criminal background check and drug screening. Knowledge of the rules of the game is required. Must have a high level of independent judgment. Must attend an interview and training session. Ability to work 3 – 12 hours a week. Ability to work flexible schedule, evening work required. Flag Football September – early November. Basketball November – April. Rate of pay is $22.00/hour. Ability to follow City policies and regulations. Must be able to pass a post offer drug test and background check. Part Time Basketball/Indoor Soccer Scorekeeper/Timer

Part time youth sports scorekeeper/timer are responsible for keeping score and operating the score clock for scheduled basketball or indoor soccer games. The Roland E. Powell Convention Center seeks a qualified employee to assist with the set-up, layout, maintenance, and housekeeping of the facility. Commitment to excellent customer service and a positive attitude is desired. Duties include sweeping, mopping, washing windows, scrubbing walls, waxing, buffing, cleaning restrooms, vacuuming floors, stairs and office area as well as other duties as may be assigned. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. with assistance. The skill to operate a forklift is a plus. Applicant must be flexible to work shifts as scheduled with the ability to work days, evenings, weekends and holidays. Hours vary between 24 to 40+ hours per week and work hours may exceed 8-hour shifts. High school diploma or GED and valid driver’s license is required. JOB TITLE: Temporary Police Data Clerk

The Town of Ocean City, Maryland Police Department is seeking temporary employees capable of working 24 to 40 hours per week to perform tasks associated with police records management duties.

JOB SUMMARY:

The applicant(s) selected for this position will be responsible for police related data entry, clerical duties/procedures related to the processing of parking fines and vehicle tows, and customer service inquires related to payments of fines and report processing.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Surf Rescue Tech/Lifeguard

The Beach Patrol will continue conducting pre-employment physical skills evaluations (PEPSE) for the 2022 season. We will conduct off-site evaluations on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at the Arundel Aquatics Center in Annapolis, MD, April 3 at Salisbury University and April 24 at Ocean Pines Sports Core. There will also be a test in Ocean City on June 4th. There are no pre-certification requirements and experience in ocean rescue is not necessary to apply or be hired. All training and certifications will be provided in a paid ($17.75 hr.) Surf Rescue Academy, which is being conducted in Ocean City in May or June of 2022.

Although pre-registration is not required, candidates are strongly encouraged to pre-register for the test by visiting www.ococean.com/ocbp The Beach Patrol requires acceptable proof of age of all candidates, which can be a driver’s license, birth certificate or U.S. passport. Without proper proof of age, applicants will not be permitted to participate. In addition, applicants must be 17 years old or older prior to June 27, 2022, and those under 18 must be accompanied by a legal guardian during the entire testing process.
