Ocean City, MD – (March 16, 2017): The Easter Bunny is hopping his way towards Northside Park in Ocean City to visit the annual Easter Bunny Funshop, but first will lead the Every Bunny Walk event to help promote a healthy lifestyle.
The Easter Bunny Funshop, sponsored by Ocean City Recreation Boosters, is a great place for families looking to spend an afternoon outdoors with friends. Children are offered the opportunity to participate in an egg hunt, egg dyeing, arts and crafts, and nearly a dozen carnival games. In addition to visiting with the Easter Bunny, participants will also enjoy refreshments, face-painting, temporary tattoos, and entertainment by The Schoolhouse Theater Arts Traveling Troupe who will be performing songs from “Once on This Island, Jr.”
The annual Easter Bunny Funshop is open to children, ages 2 to 10-years-old, and their families. The festivities are from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 15, at the Northside Park Recreation Complex located on 125th Street, Bayside.
Ocean City residents will be charged a $6.00 entry fee and non-residents an $8.00 entry fee. Only child participants pay the fee. Pre-registration is mandatory. Registration may be done online or in person at the Northside Park Recreation Complex. As promoted by the American College of Sports Medicine, “Exercise is Medicine.” Participation in regular physical activity has many benefits including reducing the risk of developing chronic health problems such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, heart disease and certain cancers. It also helps weight loss and/or maintenance of a healthy body weight, bone health, strength and flexibility. Adults should strive to participate in physical activity a minimum of 150 minutes per week and youth should aim for at least 60 minutes a day. The Every Bunny Walk event is a great way to explore a local public park, participate in physical activity as a family, and learn more about how to improve your health.
