Spring Clean Up for March 27th
Mar 27 @ 7:00 am – 2:00 pm
Spring Clean Up for March 27th

Spring Clean Up for March 27th

Spring has sprung in Ocean City, and as the town gets ready for warmer weather and the bustling summer season, residents can once again take advantage of Ocean City’s Spring Clean Up! This annual occurrence allows residential property owners to do their spring-cleaning by offering free residential bulk pick-up on Saturday, March 27th.

Ocean City’s Spring Clean Up service offers a convenient way for residents to get rid of large household items, such as furniture, appliances, bicycles, carpet, etc., which cannot normally be loaded into a standard refuse truck. Yard debris and shrubs are also permitted, however; the maximum diameter of tree limbs accepted is three inches. Further, this effort does NOT include the pick-up of full size trees or the pick-up of large demolition/remodeling projects.

To participate, residents are being asked to place all items curbside (staff does not go on private property to remove items) on Saturday, March 27th from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. This effort will allow staff to achieve the most efficient effort in the clean-up process.

The Spring Clean Up service is provided for residents only, as commercial properties are not included in the Spring Clean Up effort. For more information, call the Town of Ocean City’s Solid Waste Division at 410-524-0318.

ABOUT ESA

ESA is the largest amateur surfing association in the world. Our family oriented programs promote a healthy and active lifestyle. It is not uncommon to find two or three generations of the same family involved as members of the ESA, and actively competing in our program. Two of the original founders of the ESA, Cecil Lear and David Reese, are still active in the association more than fifty years later.

The Association’s activities are organized into a total of twenty-four districts, which extend along nearly 2,000 miles of coastline. Stretching from Maine through the Gulf Coast of Florida, and the Great Lakes, each district’s programs are developed and operated by a dedicated group of volunteer directors and staff.

QUICK FACTS

Eleven time world professional surfing champion Kelly Slater and former world professional womens surfing champion Lisa Anderson both learned their competitive skills through the Eastern Surfing Association.

Sister Deedee has returned to bring her fiancee, Pike, to safety, even as her memory is vanishing faster and faster. In this slowly drowning world, everyone is searching for higher ground. The sisters battle to the end, one unable to forget, the other unable to remember. Mox Nox is a play of lyrical magic and visual surprise, with characters who desperately need love and dry land. Captain Schoepf Relay @ 7th St. & Beach
Jun 13 @ 10:00 am – 12:00 pm

Captain Schoepf Relay

June 13, 2021

Captain Schoepf served on the Beach Patrol from 1950 to 1996, at which time he retired after more than 40 years of service to the Town of Ocean City. To honor his many years of service with the OCBP, this annual relay is held in early June. A classic steel rescue buoy is passed along by alumni guards and current lifeguards.  The relay begins at 7th Street at 10AM, Captain Schoepf’s original stand, with a run to the end of Ocean City followed by a swim the entire length of Ocean City. The buoy is returned to the beach and run back to the starting point at 7th Street.  The direction of the relay is contingent upon the prevailing ocean current on the morning of the relay.   For more information about the relay and Captain Schoepf visit our website at www.oceancitymd.gov/ocbp.
