Ocean City Celebrated Its Anniversary with History, Celebrations and Festivities to Kick off Summer
Ocean City, Maryland – May 1, 2025 – Summer is coming, and Ocean City, Maryland is celebrating in true boardwalk style – revving engines, rockin’ stages and honoring its 150 years of coastal charm. This May, Ocean City invites its residents and travelers to experience a full month of festivities that will blend history, music, cars and unbeatable beach vibes.
The month revs up in high gear with the 35th Annual Cruisin’ Ocean City, taking place May 1-4, 2025. Over 3,000 hot rods, customs, classics and trucks will roll into town for this iconic event, with main festivities unfolding at the Inlet Parking Lot along the boardwalk. There will be citywide shows, a boardwalk parade, entertainment and a vendor showcase located at the Outlets in West Ocean City.
All month long, the May Mobile Museum will be featuring the history of the boardwalk. Attendees can immerse themselves in the stories, photos and artifacts that trace the evolution of Ocean City’s legendary boardwalk. Along with the town’s anniversary and in celebration of National Travel and Tourism Week, the Historic Walking Tour will take place on May 8th. Led by local experts, this guided tour will highlight local landmarks, untold stories and the incredible legacy of the people and places that shaped Ocean City into one of Maryland’s most beloved destinations.
It’s almost time to rock and roll with the first-ever Boardwalk Rock Music Festival, May 17-18, 2025. More than 25 bands will take over three stages downtown, delivering high-energy performances from national acts and local favorites alike. In addition to the music, there will be local food vendors and the variety of boardwalk businesses within the festival footprint. Summer is officially here after the Memorial Day Ceremony on Sunday, May 25, featuring MD Army National Guard Guest Speaker Maj. Gen. Janeen L. Birckhead.
While you’re here, shop and dine around town all month long with our participating partners: Hooper’s, Bayview Bar & Grille, Papi’s Tacos, OC Bay Hooper and The Bearded Clam. Families can also enjoy this month’s play around town, Spring Movie Nights in the Park, on May 16 (Migration) and 23 (Inside Out 2) at Bayside Park on 3rd Street. Bring a blanket, grab some snacks, and settle under the stars for a relaxing evening by the bay.
