Who are we?
The Ocean City, MD Department of Emergency Management promotes emergency preparedness and resilience throughout the community. Under the direction of the Emergency Services Director, Ocean City’s Emergency Management team coordinates disaster response efforts through the EOC or on-site operations. We also coordinate the Town’s pre-disaster emergency planning efforts to prepare and practice response procedures. We also assist residents, community groups, and businesses with emergency preparedness through community outreach programs and outreach materials.
What is Emergency Management?
As defined by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Emergency Management is the managerial function charged with creating the framework within which communities reduce vulnerability to threats/hazards and cope with disasters.
