Month-long celebration highlights the impact of parks and recreation
Ocean City, MD – June 30, 2025 – This July, join Ocean City Recreation & Parks for Park and Recreation Month, as we celebrate how Ocean City is stronger, more vibrant and more resilient because of parks and recreation.
Ocean City Recreation & Parks is celebrating Park and Recreation Month, an initiative of the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA), by inviting our community to share their experiences, memories and stories about what parks and recreation mean to them. With everything from programs, summer camps, to special events, there are plenty of ways that you can celebrate with us, as well!
Director of Recreation & Parks, Kate Gaddis, commented, “Through accessible programs and inclusive spaces, Ocean City Recreation & Parks is helping build our community as we play together! This is most evident in our recent park build at Bayside Park at 3rd Street – an-all access park where locals and visitors can get outside and enjoy active and passive recreational opportunities in a beautiful bayfront setting!”
NRPA and Ocean City Recreation & Parks encourage everyone who supports parks and recreation to post why their local park and recreation professionals are important to them on social media with #BuildTogetherPlayTogether.
