ABOUT THE OC FIRE DEPARTMENT
Welcome to the Ocean City Fire Department
The Ocean City Fire Department is a combination department comprised of dedicated volunteer and career personnel, working together to protect our residents and visitors. We proudly include over 200 members in the Volunteer Division and more than 100 in the Career Division, including the Office of the Fire Marshal and our vital support staff.
Annually, our department responds to nearly 7,000 emergency calls—many of which occur during our busy summer season. We operate in five response “box areas” that correlate with our five fire stations, covering the full 10.5-mile stretch of Ocean City, West Ocean City, and areas extending to Holly Grove Road. We also provide mutual aid to our neighboring jurisdictions in Worcester County, Maryland, and Sussex County, Delaware.
Our capabilities are strengthened by several specialized response teams, including our Dive Team, Water Rescue Team, Confined Space Rescue Team, Bomb Squad, and Marine Unit, which operates two fully equipped fire boats.
