Help create a warm, respectful and enriching after school environment assisting children with age appropriate activities including but not limited to games, sports, crafts, etc. This position assists the Afterschool Coordinator with implementing weekly afterschool activities for elementary aged children K-4th grade. Must be available Monday – Friday, 3 p.m. – 6p.m. following the Worcester County School calendar. Approximately 9-15 hours/week $10.62/hour. Must have experience working with elementary aged children. Drug test and background check are required. This position is open until filled.

Part-time Youth Flag Football Officials: responsible for officiating scheduled flag football games. Prior experience in officiating flag football is desirable. Graduation from an accredited high school or GED equivalent required. Must be eighteen years of age or older. Must successfully complete and pass a background check and drug screening. Knowledge of the rules of the game of flag football is required. Candidate should possess a high level of independent judgment and attend an interview. The ability to work a flexible evening schedule approximately 4 hours per week August through November is required. Rate of pay is $18.00/game. Ability to follow City policies and regulations. Officials are under the direction of the assigned Coordinator and the Program Supervisor and are required to follow City policies and regulations.

Official Assistants will earn $13.00/hour and must be 16 years of age or older. All officials are under the direction of the assigned Coordinator and the Program Supervisor and are required to follow City policies and regulations.

The ability to work a flexible evening schedule approximately 4 to 12 hours per week October through Mid-February is required. Preferred eighteen years of age or older. Must successfully complete and pass a background check and drug screening. Rate of pay is $10.62/hour. Scorekeepers are under the direction of the assigned Coordinator and the Program Supervisor and are required to follow all City policies and regulations.

Recreation /Parks Golf Course

Part-time Golf Course Landscaper

The Landscaper performs tasks involved in the maintenance of ornamental flower beds, tree and shrub plantings, clubhouse grounds, golf course landscaping and naturalized areas. Duties will include mowing, mulching, planting, pruning and weeding. Some golf course maintenance may be required such as sand bunker maintenance, greens rolling and misc. equipment operation. The Landscaper may also perform specialized tasks such as fertilization, irrigation operation, and special landscape projects.

Prior education and experience in landscape maintenance or horticulture would be helpful but is not required. All applicants must dependable, have a positive work ethic and be willing and able to work outside in all types of weather conditions. Applicants must have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and possess a high school diploma or general education degree (GED). Golf privileges, tools and uniforms provided. Work hours are flexible, up to 40 hours per week in season. Hourly rate up to $12.30 per hour based on experience and ability.

The Town of Ocean City is seeking an individual to plan, implement and evaluate age appropriate afterschool activities for children in kindergarten through 4th grade. This individual will provide activities and learning experiences to help build the knowledge and skills children need to succeed. Qualifications include experience working with elementary aged children, the availability to work 3 p.m. – 6 p.m. Monday – Friday 10-15 hours per week following the Worcester County School calendar. Candidate must work within the set budget. Hourly rate is $14.95. Driving record, drug test and background check required. This position is open until filled.

Convention Center

Casual Labor (Temporary)

The Roland E. Powell Convention Center seeks a qualified employee to assist with the set-up, layout, maintenance, and housekeeping of the facility. Commitment to excellent customer service and a positive attitude is desired. Duties include sweeping, mopping, washing windows, scrubbing walls, waxing, buffing, cleaning restrooms, vacuuming floors, stairs and office area as well as other duties as may be assigned. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. The skill to operate a forklift is a plus. Applicant must be flexible to work shifts as scheduled with the ability to work days, evenings, weekends and holidays. Hours vary between 24 to 40+ hours per week and work hours may exceed 8 hour shifts. High school diploma or GED and valid driver’s license is required. $10.62 per hour.

Security Guard – Temporary/Seasonal

Monitors fuel usage, fuel deliveries, gas pump readings, and supplies at the fuel depot, and completes related paperwork. Manages in/out access of tow truck drivers and citizens for the impound lot. Able to legibly fill out forms for vehicles, fuel and gas pump readings. This job requires frequent walking, standing and occasional exposure to the elements. Applicants must be willing to work shifts as assigned, including days, evenings and nights. Candidate must pass a post-offer drug test. The starting pay is $11.71 per hour.

MUNICIPAL TRANSIT

Bus Driver (Temporary) General duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Operating municipal transit vehicles in accordance with Departmental policies, Municipal, State, and Federal laws; Performs pre and post inspections of assigned vehicles; Sells tickets to passengers; Performs and secures fare collections; Records passenger counts; Assists passengers with disabilities; Requires exceptional customer service skills, good point of sale capabilities, and the ability to communicate calmly, clearly and effectively; A CDL Class B license with passenger and airbrake endorsements and current DOT Physical/Medical Certification Card is required. Previous work related experience is preferred, but not required. Applicants must be 20 years of age and an acceptable driving record. Hourly wage is $14.94 for applicants possessing the required credentials. Paid CDL training is available, please inquire within. Trainee program wages are available upon request.

Bus Maintenance Tech I (Temporary) General duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Performing routine vehicle maintenance and mechanical checks and light repairs to transit vehicles; Pre and post vehicle inspections; Maintains accurate vehicle maintenance and supply records; Maintains interior and exterior cleanliness of vehicles, and; Other duties as may be assigned. A CDL Class B license with passenger and airbrake endorsements, current DOT Physical/Medical Certification Card is required. Previous related work experience preferred, but not required. Hourly wage is $13.55.

Dispatcher (Temporary) General duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Coordinating transportation services of ADA clients; Receiving and transmitting communications by telephone and other communication devices; Monitoring arrival and departure of drivers and vehicles; Issue and record coupons and tickets; Collection of fare from fare boxes; Assigning transit vehicles; Recording needed vehicle repairs; Monitor Operator dress code; Assemble, re- view for accuracy and submit daily data and documentation provided by Operators for reporting to Administration, and; Other duties as may be assigned. Requires exceptional customer service skills and the ability to communicate calmly, clearly and effectively; Previous work related experience preferred, but not required. Hourly wage is $12.29.

BOARDWALK TRAMS

Tram Conductor (Temporary) General duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Communicating with and advising the Tram Driver, via radio, on the safe control of vehicle starts, stops, and maneuvers along the Boardwalk; Requires exceptional customer service skills, good point of sale capabilities, and the ability to communicate calmly, clearly and effectively; Sells Tickets and Punch Cards, collects revenue, and reconciles accounts; Punches or collects passenger tickets and cards; Maintains passenger counts; Assists passengers with special needs or disabilities; Previous work related experience is preferred, but not required; Hourly wage is $10.62.

Tram Driver (Temporary) General duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Drives the length of the boardwalk with the radio assistance of the Conductor, in accordance with Departmental policies, Municipal, and State laws. Requires exceptional customer service skills and the ability to communicate calmly, clearly and effectively. Assists passengers with special needs or disabilities on and off of the Tram. A current DOT Physical/Medical Certification Card is required and A CDL Class B license with passenger and airbrake endorsements and previous related work experience is preferred, but not required. Hourly wage is $11.71.

Ticket Seller (Temporary) General duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Ticket media sales; Records, maintains, accounts for and reconciles product sales and inventory; Requires exceptional customer service skills, good point of sale capabilities, and the ability to communicate calmly, clearly and effectively; Assists Supervisory staff in the timely arrival and departure of Boardwalk Trams; Receives payment for parking meter violators; Previous work related experience is preferred, but not required. Hourly wage is $10.62.

ADMINISTRATION

Account Clerk (Temporary) Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Performing clerical tasks related to financial record keeping, currency counting, sorting and reconciliation; Retrieves, receives and documents transit vehicle revenue. Must possess the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and written; Have a working knowledge of basic accounting principles and use of related office equipment. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Work schedule includes evenings, weekends and holidays. Fingerprinting and backgrounds checks are required. Hourly wage is $12.29.
