Casual Labor (Temporary)

The Roland E. Powell Convention Center seeks a qualified employee to assist with the set-up, layout, maintenance, and housekeeping of the facility. Commitment to excellent customer service and a positive attitude is desired. Duties include sweeping, mopping, washing windows, scrubbing walls, waxing, buffing, cleaning restrooms, vacuuming floors, stairs and office area as well as other duties as may be assigned. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. The skill to operate a forklift is a plus. Applicant must be flexible to work shifts as scheduled with the ability to work days, evenings, weekends and holidays. Hours vary between 24 to 40+ hours per week and work hours may exceed 8 hour shifts. High school diploma or GED and valid driver’s license is required. $10.62 per hour.

Monitors tournaments, programs and activities within the Northside Park Recreation facility. Handles set up and break down of activities/events. Close contact with the public both physically and by telephone. Possess excellent communication and computer skills. Able to work schedule not limited but including Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays day and evenings. 25 – 30 hours a week. Lift equipment up to 60lbs and have a valid driver’s license. Skate Park Worker (Seasonal)

Skate Park worker needed for the summer season. Responsibilities will include overall monitoring of the Ocean Bowl Skate Park. Position is front line to the public and requires registering of daily participants, cash handling, answering phones, rule enforcement, facility maintenance, event management, and first aid administration. Must be available to work a varied schedule seven days a week up to 30 hours with varied day and evening shifts between the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. from May 20- September 1. Security Guard – Temporary/Seasonal

Monitors fuel usage, fuel deliveries, gas pump readings, and supplies at the fuel depot, and completes related paperwork. Manages in/out access of tow truck drivers and citizens for the impound lot. Able to legibly fill out forms for vehicles, fuel and gas pump readings. This job requires frequent walking, standing and occasional exposure to the elements. Applicants must be willing to work shifts as assigned, including days, evenings and nights. Candidate must pass a post-offer drug test. The starting pay is $11.71 per hour.

Ocean City Beach Patrol

Lifeguards

Duties include educating the public, warning swimmers of potential danger, rescuing distressed swimmers, responding to emergency situations, administering first aid, reuniting lost and found individuals, and enforcing city ordinances. The Beach Patrol is on duty every day from 10:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. starting Memorial Day weekend and continues 7 days a week (43.5 hours a week) into September. $13.55 in Training, $14.94 Off Probation. Housing assistance available. No previous lifeguard experience or certifications required.

Temporary Parks Worker

Performs duties in turf care, park construction projects, landscape maintenance and town events. Camp Horizon Day Camp Counselors

3 Positions $11.71/hour

Responsibilities include scheduling, planning, and implementing activities involving all aspects of recreation including sports, games, arts and crafts, drama, dance, and nature activities for children 5-12 years. Also included are report and schedule preparation and other duties as assigned. Applicants must be dedicated, enthusiastic, hard working, creative individuals who love working with children. Applicants must be 18 years of age or older. Those with or working toward a degree in Recreation, Education, or a related field are desired. Applicants must be available to work June 10 through August 9. Camp program runs for eight weeks, Monday through Friday, beginning June 17. Position falls under the direct supervision of the Camp Director. Forty (40) hours per week with limited overtime opportunities.

This position will remain open until filled.

Solid Waste Worker

The Town of Ocean City is now hiring for summer solid waste truck drivers. Relish the beautiful beach scenery while driving in air conditioned comfort. This position offers a schedule of early morning to mid-afternoon which will allow you to enjoy the remainder of your day. Experience driving heavy machinery or operating a front-end, automated, side-load and rear load refuse truck is preferred. Hourly rate of pay is $16.45 per hour. Candidate must have a valid CDL license with a current DOT physical card.

Other duties include solicitation for prizes and sponsorships, planning, purchasing supplies, implementing and evaluating beach activities. Schedule includes some evenings, weekends and holidays. Must be working towards a bachelor’s degree in Recreation and Parks or related field. Receiving college credits for work and enrolled in a college course for internship credit preferred. 40 hours per week end of May – mid August, $10.62 per hour, no housing provided. Bus Driver (Temporary) General duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Operating municipal transit vehicles in accordance with Departmental policies, Municipal, State, and Federal laws; Performs pre and post inspections of assigned vehicles; Sells tickets to passengers; Performs and secures fare collections; Records passenger counts; Assists passengers with disabilities; Requires exceptional customer service skills, good point of sale capabilities, and the ability to communicate calmly, clearly and effectively; A CDL Class B license with passenger and airbrake endorsements and current DOT Physical/Medical Certification Card is required. Previous work related experience is preferred, but not required. Applicants must be 20 years of age and an acceptable driving record. Hourly wage is $14.94 for applicants possessing the required credentials. Paid CDL training is available, please inquire within. Trainee program wages are available upon request.

Bus Maintenance Tech I (Temporary) General duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Performing routine vehicle maintenance and mechanical checks and light repairs to transit vehicles; Pre and post vehicle inspections; Maintains accurate vehicle maintenance and supply records; Maintains interior and exterior cleanliness of vehicles, and; Other duties as may be assigned. A CDL Class B license with passenger and airbrake endorsements, current DOT Physical/Medical Certification Card is required. Previous related work experience preferred, but not required. Hourly wage is $13.55.

Dispatcher (Temporary) General duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Coordinating transportation services of ADA clients; Receiving and transmitting communications by telephone and other communication devices; Monitoring arrival and departure of drivers and vehicles; Issue and record coupons and tickets; Collection of fare from fare boxes; Assigning transit vehicles; Recording needed vehicle repairs; Monitor Operator dress code; Assemble, re- view for accuracy and submit daily data and documentation provided by Operators for reporting to Administration, and; Other duties as may be assigned. Requires exceptional customer service skills and the ability to communicate calmly, clearly and effectively; Previous work related experience preferred, but not required. Hourly wage is $12.29.

BOARDWALK TRAMS

Tram Conductor (Temporary) General duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Communicating with and advising the Tram Driver, via radio, on the safe control of vehicle starts, stops, and maneuvers along the Boardwalk; Requires exceptional customer service skills, good point of sale capabilities, and the ability to communicate calmly, clearly and effectively; Sells Tickets and Punch Cards, collects revenue, and reconciles accounts; Punches or collects passenger tickets and cards; Maintains passenger counts; Assists passengers with special needs or disabilities; Previous work related experience is preferred, but not required; Hourly wage is $10.62.

Tram Driver (Temporary) General duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Drives the length of the boardwalk with the radio assistance of the Conductor, in accordance with Departmental policies, Municipal, and State laws. Requires exceptional customer service skills and the ability to communicate calmly, clearly and effectively. Assists passengers with special needs or disabilities on and off of the Tram. A current DOT Physical/Medical Certification Card is required and A CDL Class B license with passenger and airbrake endorsements and previous related work experience is preferred, but not required. Hourly wage is $11.71.

Ticket Seller (Temporary) General duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Ticket media sales; Records, maintains, accounts for and reconciles product sales and inventory; Requires exceptional customer service skills, good point of sale capabilities, and the ability to communicate calmly, clearly and effectively; Assists Supervisory staff in the timely arrival and departure of Boardwalk Trams; Receives payment for parking meter violators; Previous work related experience is preferred, but not required. Hourly wage is $10.62.

ADMINISTRATION

Account Clerk (Temporary) Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Performing clerical tasks related to financial record keeping, currency counting, sorting and reconciliation; Retrieves, receives and documents transit vehicle revenue. Must possess the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and written; Have a working knowledge of basic accounting principles and use of related office equipment. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Work schedule includes evenings, weekends and holidays. Fingerprinting and backgrounds checks are required. Hourly wage is $12.29.
