Public Works/Maintenance

SEASONAL MAINTENANCE WORKER

This position requires the employee to operate pick-up trucks and flat beds. Labor involves cleaning streets, boardwalk and beach of debris, painting curbs and street lines, installing signs and parking machines. Assists in all City special events and other maintenance duties as assigned. Working hours are Monday thru Friday 6am-2:30pm and Saturday 6am to 10am thru September. Must have a valid driver’s license and pass a post offer drug test.

BASKETBALL OFFICIAL (PART-TIME)

Do you have a passion for basketball and the ability to make split-second decisions? Then we have a slam dunk opportunity for you. Graduation from an accredited high school or GED equivalent required. Must be eighteen years of age or older and successfully complete a criminal background check and drug screening. On-court training will be provided. Knowledge of the rules of the game is required, and prior experience in officiating basketball is desirable. A written rules exam or oral exam and an interview will be given. Candidate must have a high level of independent judgment and follow all city policies and regulations. The evening work schedule is 4-12 hours per week November through Mid-February. Rate of pay is $18.00/hour. Officials are under the direction of the assigned Coordinator and the Program Supervisor.

CONCESSIONS WORKER (SEASONAL)

Work recreational concession operations including food sales, preparation, cash register operations, inventory, stocking, customer service, etc. Must be at least 18 years of age. Able to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends. 10 – 29 hours a week. Lift weights up to 50 lbs and have a valid driver’s license. Hourly rate $9.45. Driving record, drug test and background check required. Position will be open until filled.

SEASONAL BUS DRIVER APPLICATIONS ARE STILL BEING ACCEPTED!

Bus Drivers: (Temporary) General duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Operating municipal transit vehicles in accordance with Departmental policies, Municipal, State, and Federal laws; Performs pre and post inspections of assigned vehicles; Sells tickets to passengers; Performs and secures fare collections; Records passenger counts; Assists passengers with disabilities; Requires exceptional customer service skills, good point of sale capabilities, and the ability to communicate calmly, clearly and effectively; A CDL Class B license with passenger and airbrake endorsements and current DOT Physical/Medical Certification Card is required. Previous work related experience is preferred, but not required. Applicants must be 20 years of age and an acceptable driving record. Hourly wage is $14.65 for applicants possessing the required credentials.

BOARDWALK TRAMS

Tram Driver (Temporary) General duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Drives the length of the boardwalk with the radio assistance of the Conductor, in accordance with Departmental policies, Municipal, and State laws. Requires exceptional customer service skills and the ability to communicate calmly, clearly and effectively. Assists passengers with special needs or disabilities on and off of the Tram. A current DOT Physical/Medical Certification Card is required and A CDL Class B license with passenger and airbrake endorsements and previous related work experience is preferred, but not required. Hourly wage is $11.48.

AFTERSCHOOL ACTIVITIES COORDINATOR (PART-TIME)

Are you energetic, enthusiastic and fun? The Town of Ocean City is seeking an individual to plan, implement and evaluate age appropriate afterschool activities for children in kindergarten through 4th grade. This individual will provide activities and learning experiences to help build the knowledge and skills children need to succeed. Qualifications include experience working with elementary aged children, the availability to work 3 p.m. – 6 p.m. Monday – Friday 10-15 hours per week following the Worcester County School calendar. Candidate must work within the set budget. Hourly rate is $14.65. Driving record, drug test and background check required. Deadline to submit September 1, 2017.
