Ocean City Fire Department

EMT –Intermediate, Maryland CRT, Paramedics – Part-Time

We are looking for skilled ALS clinicians to augment our full time staff in the 2021 season. Individuals must be at least 18 years of age and meet the following requirements at the time of application:

1. High School Diploma or GED.
2. Possess a valid Maryland or National Registry Paramedic license, Maryland CRT license or National Registry EMT-Intermediate license. Individuals who are not Maryland Licensed at the time of application must obtain a Maryland license within 30 days of employment.
3. Valid driver’s license at the time of application with 2 years driving experience and a satisfactory driving record.
4. One year of validated experience in driving and operating an emergency vehicle in the emergency mode is preferred.
5. Current BLS Healthcare Provider or Professional Rescuer CPR certification.

Successful applicants are subject to a criminal background check and a post-offer drug test.

Finance Department

Temporary Account Clerk I

The Town of Ocean City is seeking an energetic individual to assist in the Billing and Collections Office. The Account Clerk will be responsible for various administrative tasks that include but are not limited to; receiving and reconciling payments, resolving customer issues, responding to account inquires, and processing property deed transfers. Must have excellent communication and customer service skills. Experienced bookkeeping and computer skills are also necessary, with the ability to learn a variety of software applications quickly. Minimum requirements include a high school diploma, pre-employment drug screen and background check. Experience in an accounting or banking environment is preferred. Hourly rate of pay is $12.55.

Recreation Department

Afterschool Activities Coordinator

If you enjoy working with children, being outside, and are full of creative energy, then the Afterschool Activities Coordinator is the job or you. The work schedule of two days a week offers flexibility for candidates with other work, school, and personal obligations. The current work schedule is Tuesday & Thursday 3pm-6pm. Children grades K-4th will join us for activities after their schoolwork is completed from 4-5:30pm. The coordinator’s responsibilities include planning, organizing, and implementing daily activities including, but not limited to, sports, games, crafts, nature exploring, and other age-appropriate activities. The current session runs September 15th – October 22nd with the possibility of expanding to more days when schools return to in-person instruction. Applicant must have experience working with elementary aged children. Drug test and background screen are required. This position is open until filled. Hourly rate is $15.25.

Bus Maintenance Tech I (Temporary)

General duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Performing routine vehicle maintenance and mechanical checks and light repairs to transit vehicles; Pre and post vehicle inspections; Maintains accurate vehicle maintenance and supply records; Maintains interior and exterior cleanliness of vehicles, and; Other duties as may be assigned. A CDL Class B license with passenger and airbrake endorsements, current DOT Physical/Medical Certification Card is required. Previous related work experience preferred, but not required. Hourly wage is $13.83.

Dispatcher (Temporary)

General duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Coordinating transportation services of ADA clients; Receiving and transmitting communications by telephone and other communication devices; Monitoring arrival and departure of drivers and vehicles; Issue and record coupons and tickets; Collection of fare from fare boxes; Assigning transit vehicles; Recording needed vehicle repairs; Monitor Operator dress code; Assemble, re- view for accuracy and submit daily data and documentation provided by Operators for reporting to Administration, and; Other duties as may be assigned. Requires exceptional customer service skills and the ability to communicate calmly, clearly and effectively; Previous work related experience preferred, but not required. Hourly wage is $12.55.
