MUNICIPAL TRANSIT

Bus Driver (Temporary) General duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Operating municipal transit vehicles in accordance with Departmental policies, Municipal, State, and Federal laws; Performs pre and post inspections of assigned vehicles; Sells tickets to passengers; Performs and secures fare collections; Records passenger counts; Assists passengers with disabilities; Requires exceptional customer service skills, good point of sale capabilities, and the ability to communicate calmly, clearly and effectively; A CDL Class B license with passenger and airbrake endorsements and current DOT Physical/Medical Certification Card is required. Previous work related experience is preferred, but not required. Applicants must be 20 years of age and an acceptable driving record. Hourly wage is $14.65 for applicants possessing the required credentials. Paid CDL training is available, please inquire within. Trainee program wages are available upon request.

Bus Maintenance Tech I (Temporary) General duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Performing routine vehicle maintenance and mechanical checks and light repairs to transit vehicles; Pre and post vehicle inspections; Maintains accurate vehicle maintenance and supply records; Maintains interior and exterior cleanliness of vehicles, and; Other duties as may be assigned. A CDL Class B license with passenger and airbrake endorsements, current DOT Physical/Medical Certification Card is required. Previous related work experience preferred, but not required. Hourly wage is $13.29.

Dispatcher (Temporary) General duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Coordinating transportation services of ADA clients; Receiving and transmitting communications by telephone and other communication devices; Monitoring arrival and departure of drivers and vehicles; Issue and record coupons and tickets; Collection of fare from fare boxes; Assigning transit vehicles; Recording needed vehicle repairs; Monitor Operator dress code; Assemble, review for accuracy and submit daily data and documentation provided by Operators for reporting to Administration, and; Other duties as may be assigned. Requires exceptional customer service skills and the ability to communicate calmly, clearly and effectively; Previous work related experience preferred, but not required. Hourly wage is $12.05.

BOARDWALK TRAMS

Tram Conductor (Temporary) General duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Communicating with and advising the Tram Driver, via radio, on the safe control of vehicle starts, stops, and maneuvers along the Boardwalk; Requires exceptional customer service skills, good point of sale capabilities, and the ability to communicate calmly, clearly and effectively; Sells Tickets and Punch Cards, collects revenue, and reconciles accounts; Punches or collects passenger tickets and cards; Maintains passenger counts; Assists passengers with special needs or disabilities; Previous work related experience is preferred, but not required; Hourly wage is $10.41.

Tram Driver (Temporary) General duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Drives the length of the boardwalk with the radio assistance of the Conductor, in accordance with Departmental policies, Municipal, and State laws. Requires exceptional customer service skills and the ability to communicate calmly, clearly and effectively. Assists passengers with special needs or disabilities on and off of the Tram. A current DOT Physical/Medical Certification Card is required and a CDL Class B license with passenger and airbrake endorsements and previous related work experience is preferred, but not required. Hourly wage is $11.48.
Ticket Seller (Temporary) General duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Ticket media sales; Records, maintains, accounts for and reconciles product sales and inventory; Requires exceptional customer service skills, good point of sale capabilities, and the ability to communicate calmly, clearly and effectively; Assists Supervisory staff in the timely arrival and departure of Boardwalk Trams; Receives payment for parking meter violators; Previous work related experience is preferred, but not required. Hourly wage is $10.41.

ADMINISTRATION

Account Clerk (Temporary) Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Performing clerical tasks related to financial record keeping, currency counting, sorting and reconciliation; Retrieves, receives and documents transit vehicle revenue. Must possess the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and written; Have a working knowledge of basic accounting principles and use of related office equipment. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Work schedule includes evenings, weekends and holidays. Fingerprinting and backgrounds checks are required. Hourly wage is $12.05.

Ocean City Police Department

PUBLIC SAFETY BUILDING SPECIALIST

SALARY: $14.65/hour

AVAILABILITY: Immediately

The Town of Ocean City, Maryland Police Department is seeking a part-time employee to perform tasks associated with the maintenance of the Public Safety Building (PSB) located at 6501 Coastal Highway in Ocean City, Maryland.

JOB SUMMARY: 

The applicant selected for this position will be required to perform technical, skilled and semi-skilled labor on operating systems within the physical facility of the Public Safety Building.  This will include coordinating contracted repair and maintenance projects within the building as well as coordinating police vehicle fleet management needs.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:  

All applicants must be a graduate of an accredited high school or holder of a general education degree (G.E.D.) is required.  At least five (5) years of experience in the field of vehicle/building maintenance is desired.  A valid driver’s license is required and a valid commercial motor vehicle license is desirable and preferred.

The selected candidate must be able to work a variety of schedules and be available for on-call 24 hour service.  The selected candidate may be required to wear a departmental cellular telephone and, in the event of hazardous weather or other emergency conditions, may be required to report for duty during off hours in order to maintain continuous operation of the Public Safety Building and associated emergency equipment.

Firefighter/EMS Provider Positions

We are looking for skilled Firefighter/EMS providers to augment our full time staff for the 2018 season. Individuals must be at least 18 years of age and meet the following requirements at the time of application:

  1. High School Diploma or GED.
  2. Valid Maryland or National Registry EMT, Maryland CRT/EMT-I, or Paramedic license or certificate. Successful candidates must obtain Maryland license or certification within 30 days of employment.
  3. Maryland Firefighter 1 certification, National Pro-Board Firefighter 1 certification or equivalent at the time of application.
  4. Valid driver’s license at the time of application with 2 years driving experience and a satisfactory driving record.
  5. One year of validated experience in driving and operating an emergency vehicle in the emergency mode is preferred.
  6. Current BLS Healthcare Provider or Professional Rescuer CPR certification.

Part Time Basketball Scorekeeper/Timer

Part time basketball scorekeeper/timer responsible for keeping score and operating the score clock for scheduled basketball games.  Prior experience in scorekeeping basketball is desirable.  Graduation from an accredited high school or GED equivalent required.  Preferred eighteen years of age or older. Must successfully complete and pass a criminal background check and drug screening.  Knowledge of the rules of the game of basketball is essential.  Candidate should possess a high level of independent judgment and attend on-court game situation training, and an interview.  The ability to work a flexible evening schedule approximately 4 to 12 hours per week December through Mid-February is required.  Rate of pay is $10.41/hour.  Scorekeepers are under the direction of the assigned Coordinator and the Program Supervisor and are required to follow all City policies and regulations.

Facilities Monitor

Monitors tournaments, programs and activities within the Northside Park Recreation facility. Recreation/ Parks background preferred. Handles set up and break down of activities/events. Close contact with the public both physically and by telephone. Possess excellent communication and computer skills. Able to work schedule not limited but including Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays day and evenings. 20 – 30 hours week. Lift weights up to 50 lbs and have a valid driver’s license. Hourly rate $12.05. Driving record, drug test and background check required. Position will be open until filled.
