Camp Horizon & Scamper Day Camp Director
1 Position $14.94/hour

Responsibilities include managing overall operations of a day camp that serves children 3-12 years of age; supervision of camp staff, staff training, enforcing policy and procedures, public relations, monitoring camp budget, writing reports, plan camp trips and activities, scheduling facilities, administration of first aid and medication. Applicants must have one year of supervisory experience in a camp setting or child related field. Experience working with children is required and preferably in a day camp setting. A degree in Recreation Management or Education is desirable. Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills are needed. All applicants must be at least 21 years of age and have a valid driver’s license. If hired, this position requires certification in First Aid and CPR. Applicants must be able to work May 28 through August 13. The camp program runs for eight weeks, Monday through Friday, beginning June 17. The job is up to fifty (50) hours per week during the eight weeks of the program.

Camp Horizon & Scamper Day Camp Assistant Director
1 Position $13.55/hour

Responsibilities include assisting with overall operations of a day camp that serves children 3-12 years of age; administration duties which require organization of camper registration records and payment records with a computer data base, purchasing and processing invoices, maintaining attendance records, answering phones and other administrative duties as assigned, assist with supervision of staff and campers, as well as supervision of scamper camp operations. Applicants must be highly organized, with good record keeping skills and practice good public relations. Experience working with children is required and in a recreation or education field is highly desirable. Computer knowledge and data base application is required. Applicants must be at least 21 year of age and have a valid driver’s license. If hired, this position requires certification in First Aid and CPR. Applicants must be able to work May 28 through August 13. The Camp program runs for eight weeks. Monday through Friday, beginning June 17. Position falls under the direct supervision of the Camp Director. The job is up to fifty (50) hours per week during the eight weeks of the program.

Camp Horizon Day Camp Counselors
3 Positions $11.71/hour

Responsibilities include scheduling, planning, and implementing activities involving all aspects of recreation including sports, games, arts and crafts, drama, dance, and nature activities for children 5-12 years. Also included are report and schedule preparation and other duties as assigned. Applicants must be dedicated, enthusiastic, hard working, creative individuals who love working with children. Applicants must be 18 years of age or older. Those with or working toward a degree in Recreation, Education, or a related field are desired. Applicants must be available to work June 10 through August 9. Camp program runs for eight weeks, Monday through Friday, beginning June 17. Position falls under the direct supervision of the Camp Director. Forty (40) hours per week with limited overtime opportunities.

Solid Waste Worker

The Town of Ocean City is now hiring for summer solid waste truck drivers. Relish the beautiful beach scenery while driving in air conditioned comfort. This position offers a schedule of early morning to mid-afternoon which will allow you to enjoy the remainder of your day. Experience driving heavy machinery or operating a front-end, automated, side-load and rear load refuse truck is preferred. Hourly rate of pay is $16.45 per hour. Candidate must have a valid CDL license with a current DOT physical card.

Impound Lot

SECURITY GUARD – TEMPORARY/SEASONAL
Monitors fuel usage, fuel deliveries, gas pump readings, and supplies at the fuel depot, and completes related paperwork. Manages in/out access of tow truck drivers and citizens for the impound lot. Able to legibly fill out forms for vehicles, fuel and gas pump readings. This job requires frequent walking, standing and occasional exposure to the elements. Applicants must be willing to work shifts as assigned, including days, evenings and nights. Candidate must pass a post-offer drug test. The starting pay is $11.71 per hour.

PART-TIME GOLF COURSE LANDSCAPER

The Landscaper performs tasks involved in the design, installation and maintenance of ornamental flower beds, tree and shrub plantings, clubhouse grounds, and golf course landscaping and naturalized areas. Duties will include mowing, mulching, planting, pruning, weeding, operation of equipment, and landscape design. The Landscaper will also perform specialized tasks such as fertilization and pest control application, irrigation operation and maintenance and landscape projects. The Landscaper may be required to assist golf course maintenance staff in general course maintenance duties which may include irrigation operation, hand-watering, mowing of greens, tees and approaches, mowing roughs, weedeater operation, sand bunker maintenance, trash pick-up.

Prior education in landscape maintenance or horticulture preferred but not required. Applicants with prior experience in golf course or landscape maintenance preferred but not required. All applicants must have a positive work ethic and be willing and able to work outside in all types of weather conditions. Applicants must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Should have basic knowledge of grounds maintenance operations and equipment and the tools used in maintenance activities. JOB TITLE: Part-time PSB Facility Specialist

SALARY: $14.95/hour

The Town of Ocean City, Maryland Police Department is seeking a part-time employee to perform tasks associated with the maintenance of the Public Safety Building (PSB) located at 6501 Coastal Highway in Ocean City, Maryland.

JOB SUMMARY:

The applicant selected for this position will be required to perform technical, skilled and semi-skilled labor on operating systems within the physical facility of the Public Safety Building. This will include coordinating contracted repair and maintenance projects within the building as well as coordinating police vehicle fleet management needs.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

All applicants must be a graduate of an accredited high school or holder of a general education degree (G.E.D.) is required. At least five (5) years of experience in the field of vehicle/building maintenance is desired. A valid driver’s license is required and a valid commercial motor vehicle license is desirable and preferred.

The selected candidate must be able to work a variety of schedules and be available for on-call 24 hour service. The selected candidate may be required to wear a departmental cellular telephone and, in the event of hazardous weather or other emergency conditions, may be required to report for duty during off hours in order to maintain continuous operation of the Public Safety Building and associated emergency equipment.

TEMPORARY INTERN

This position will support the Recreation Program staff in the day to day operation of recreational programs for all ages. Job responsibilities include assisting with marketing, coordinating staff and volunteers’ schedules. Helps with the supervision, registration, awards, and all other items related to programs, camps, leagues, skate competitions and Play it Safe Activities. This position provides facility coverage during irregular business hours offering excellent customer service while answering phones, taking registration, and fielding inquires. Other duties include solicitation for prizes and sponsorships, planning, purchasing supplies, implementing and evaluating beach activities. Schedule includes some evenings, weekends and holidays. Must be working towards a bachelor’s degree in Recreation and Parks or related field. Receiving college credits for work and enrolled in a college course for internship credit preferred. 40 hours per week end of May – mid August, $10.62 per hour, no housing provided. TENNIS SUPERVISOR (Seasonal)

This position serves as the Head Tennis Professional and General Manager of the Ocean City Tennis Center located on 61st Street and the Bay in Ocean City, Maryland. Plans, implements, directs and monitors all functions of the nine court tennis facility. Work includes tennis budget proposal and control, staff supervisory functions, and annual reports. Hires, supervises and manages a staff (5-10 employees) that includes tennis instructors, assistant manager, coordinators and court attendants. Oversees the day to day operations and maintenance of the facility made up of premier and clay tennis court surfaces, a tennis shop with resale apparel, a lounge and an outdoor deck area. Plans, implements and evaluates a full line up of tennis programs including USTA Sanctioned tournaments, leagues, mixers, lessons, camps, etc. Candidates must have a minimum Professional 2 USPTA rating and an Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school and at least 1 year of management and/or supervisory experience. Extensive knowledge running and operating a tennis facility is required. Must be able to work a varied schedule including evenings and weekends. Lift weight up to 50 pounds. Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to pass a post offer drug test and background check. $15.69 per hour, 40 hours a week Mid – April through early October.

Bus Maintenance Tech I (Temporary) General duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Performing routine vehicle maintenance and mechanical checks and light repairs to transit vehicles; Pre and post vehicle inspections; Maintains accurate vehicle maintenance and supply records; Maintains interior and exterior cleanliness of vehicles, and; Other duties as may be assigned. A CDL Class B license with passenger and airbrake endorsements, current DOT Physical/Medical Certification Card is required. Previous related work experience preferred, but not required. Hourly wage is $13.55.

Tram Conductor (Temporary) General duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Communicating with and advising the Tram Driver, via radio, on the safe control of vehicle starts, stops, and maneuvers along the Boardwalk; Requires exceptional customer service skills, good point of sale capabilities, and the ability to communicate calmly, clearly and effectively; Sells Tickets and Punch Cards, collects revenue, and reconciles accounts; Punches or collects passenger tickets and cards; Maintains passenger counts; Assists passengers with special needs or disabilities; Previous work related experience is preferred, but not required; Hourly wage is $10.62.

Tram Driver (Temporary) General duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Drives the length of the boardwalk with the radio assistance of the Conductor, in accordance with Departmental policies, Municipal, and State laws. Requires exceptional customer service skills and the ability to communicate calmly, clearly and effectively. Assists passengers with special needs or disabilities on and off of the Tram. A current DOT Physical/Medical Certification Card is required and A CDL Class B license with passenger and airbrake endorsements and previous related work experience is preferred, but not required. Ticket Seller (Temporary) General duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Ticket media sales; Records, maintains, accounts for and reconciles product sales and inventory; Requires exceptional customer service skills, good point of sale capabilities, and the ability to communicate calmly, clearly and effectively; Assists Supervisory staff in the timely arrival and departure of Boardwalk Trams; Receives payment for parking meter violators; Previous work related experience is preferred, but not required. ADMINISTRATION

Account Clerk (Temporary) Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Performing clerical tasks related to financial record keeping, currency counting, sorting and reconciliation; Retrieves, receives and documents transit vehicle revenue. Must possess the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and written; Have a working knowledge of basic accounting principles and use of related office equipment. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Work schedule includes evenings, weekends and holidays. Fingerprinting and backgrounds checks are required. Hourly wage is $12.29.
