Camp Horizon Day Camp Counselors

Responsibilities include scheduling, planning, and implementing activities involving all aspects of recreation including sports, games, arts and crafts, drama, dance, and nature activities for children 5-12 years. Also included are report and schedule preparation and other duties as assigned. Applicants must be dedicated, enthusiastic, hard working, creative individuals who love working with children. Applicants must be 18 years of age or older. Those with or working toward a degree in Recreation, Education, or a related field are desired. Applicants must be available to work June 10 through August 9. Camp program runs for eight weeks, Monday through Friday, beginning June 17. Position falls under the direct supervision of the Camp Director. Forty (40) hours per week with limited overtime opportunities.

Surf Rescue Tech/Lifeguard

The Beach Patrol will begin testing for lifeguards for summer 2020. There are no pre-certification requirements and experience in ocean rescue is not necessary to apply. All training and certifications will be provided in a paid ($15.25 hour) Surf Rescue Academy, which is being conducted in Ocean City in May or June of 2020.

Although pre-registration is not required, candidates are strongly encouraged to pre-register for testing by visiting www.ococean.com/ocbp. The Beach Patrol requires acceptable proof of age of all candidates, which can be a driver’s license, birth certificate or U.S. passport. Without proper proof of age, applicants will not be permitted to participate. In addition, applicants must be 17 years old or older prior to June 24, 2020, and those under 18 must be accompanied by a legal guardian during the entire testing process.

Following the physical skills evaluation, those meeting qualifying standards are eligible for appointment to the Beach Patrol’s Surf Rescue Academy (SRA). The SRA is eight days long and provides all training and certifications required to be a Surf Rescue Technician. Successful candidates who are available for the May academy will earn approximately four additional weeks of paid work (almost $3,000.00) compared to candidates who attend the June SRA. Even if you test early, anyone from any PEPSE may choose to attend SRA II which reports the 3rd week of June. Also, once all positions are filled we will stop hiring for the 2020 season.

The Town of Ocean City Recreation and Parks Department is looking for friendly, enthusiastic people to work at the Ocean City Tennis Center located at 61st Street and The Bay. Candidates must have excellent customer service skills and be able to play tennis. These positions assist with the tennis instruction in youth and pee wee camps as well as youth /adult tennis programs, and may act as hitting partners for customers to the facility. Assists in front desk operations including waiting on customers, answering phones, taking registration, and point of sale in the tennis shop. Assists in daily court and facility maintenance. Assists with tournament execution, including court monitoring, set up and clean up. Enforces facility rules and regulations. Experience playing tennis preferred. Drive a Bus at the Beach This Summer

Ocean City, Maryland a resort city on the Atlantic Ocean is looking for seasonal bus operators to work from the middle of May to Labor Day, we will accept applications of university and college drivers who need to return to their home base in Mid- August. All you need is your current home state Commercial Driver’s License with Passenger Endorsement, a DOT medical card, and the willingness to work nights and weekends in a beautiful seaside community. The bus service area will be contained within one ten-mile linear route with dedicated transit lanes and 10-minute headways and one park and ride lot route. Easy to learn and fun to drive, paid training and uniforms will be available and assistance in locating temporary housing upon request. Spend your days on the beach or on the water and your nights driving the thousands of visitors to the fun spots along this beautiful coastal town. The Roland E. Powell Convention Center seeks a qualified employee to assist with the set-up, layout, maintenance, and housekeeping of the facility. Commitment to excellent customer service and a positive attitude is desired. Duties include sweeping, mopping, washing windows, scrubbing walls, waxing, buffing, cleaning restrooms, vacuuming floors, stairs and office area as well as other duties as may be assigned. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. The skill to operate a forklift is a plus. Applicant must be flexible to work shifts as scheduled with the ability to work days, evenings, weekends and holidays. Security Guard – Temporary/Seasonal

Monitors fuel usage, fuel deliveries, gas pump readings, and supplies at the fuel depot, and completes related paperwork. Manages in/out access of tow truck drivers and citizens for the impound lot. Able to legibly fill out forms for vehicles, fuel and gas pump readings. This job requires frequent walking, standing and occasional exposure to the elements. Applicants must be willing to work shifts as assigned, including days, evenings and nights. Candidate must pass a post-offer drug test. The starting pay is $11.71 per hour.
